What is a filter bottle and how does it work?

A filter bottle, also known as a water filter bottle, is a reusable drinking bottle with an integrated filter system that purifies the water as you drink. Unlike regular bottles, the water first flows through a filter. This helps to remove and reduce unwanted substances while simultaneously improving the taste and smell of the water.

Filter bottles are designed for a wide range of uses and offer a practical solution, even in situations where you do not have direct access to reliable drinking water.

They help you with your own water supply and reduce the need for disposable bottles.

Compared to a standard normal plastic bottle, a filter bottle offers extra security, taste improvement, and flexibility.

For what type of water is a filter bottle with an Ahlstrom filter suitable?

A Druppel® filter bottle with an Ahlstrom filter is suitable for daily use with tap water. Additionally, the bottle can also be used in nature.

Our filter bottles can be used for clear natural water, such as:

  • Streams
  • Rivers
  • Natural springs
  • Rainwater
For what type of water is a filter bottle with an Ahlstrom filter NOT suitable?

The filter bottle with Ahlstrom filter is not suitable for:

  • Standing water
  • Water near agriculture/fields
  • Industrial or polluted environments
  • Water with an odor, color, or if there is any doubt
  • Salt water and seawater

Are you unsure about the water quality? Do not drink it.

Does the filter affect the flow rate (flux)?

A filter straw works the same as a normal straw. Drinking will feel slightly heavier than without a filter. This is because the water is purified directly by the filter. The fact that the water reaches you more slowly is actually a good sign: it means that the filter is actively working and removing impurities.

Can a filter bottle go in the dishwasher?

Yes, the filter bottles are dishwasher safe. You can safely clean the bottle, cap, and straw in the dishwasher.

Please note: the filter cartridge is not dishwasher safe.

Can I also use the bottle without a filter?

Is the cartridge due for replacement, or do you not have a new filter on hand? You can still use the bottle without a filter. The bottle will then function as a regular drinking bottle without a filter function.

Can I also put other drinks in the bottle?

You can also use the bottle for drinks such as tea, fruit juices, shakes, and other beverages.

Please note: always remove the filter before putting anything other than water in the bottle. This prevents the filter from getting clogged or performing less effectively.

After use, it is important to clean the bottle thoroughly. Rinse all parts well to keep the bottle fresh and ready for the next use.

Are the bottles BPA-free?

Yes, absolutely! Our water filter bottles are completely BPA-free.

So you can always drink with peace of mind: no harmful substances, just pure and safe water. Our bottles are made from high-quality, durable materials specifically designed for daily use.

Filter cartridges

Which substances does a water filter bottle filter out of the water?

Depending on the type of filter, bacteria, viruses, chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides, odors, and flavors are reduced. Click here for an overview of our available water filters.

How long does a filter last?

An Ahlstrom filter has a purification capacity of 150 litres.

An Alkaline filter has a purification capacity of 200 litres.

The exact lifespan of a water filter depends on usage and the quality of the local water.

Are minerals retained?

Yes, essential minerals such as calcium and magnesium are retained. An Alkaline filter even adds important minerals to the water.

How do I use the filter for the first time?

Replacing your filter is easy and quick. Follow these steps for optimal use:

  1. Remove the new filter from its packaging.
  2. Rinse it thoroughly under running water for 60 seconds.
  3. Then submerge the filter in a bowl of water for 15 minutes.
  4. Afterward, let the filter drip dry.
  5. Place the new filter back into the straw of the bottle.

Does the filter remove limescale from the water?

The filter bottles partially reduce limescale, but do not make water completely limescale-free.

Can I reuse a cartridge?

Yes, you can, provided you store it correctly, the filter cartridge can be reused later. Remove the filter from the bottle, let it drain well, then wrap the filter in foil and store it in a cool, dark place such as the refrigerator.

How do I clean the filter cartridge?

Rinse the filter cartridge under the tap with cold water. Please note: the filter cartridge is not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher. This may affect its performance and lifespan.

How do I replace the filter cartridge?

Replacing your filter is easy and quick. Follow these steps for optimal use:

  1. Remove the used filter from the bottle's straw.
  2. Take the new filter and rinse it thoroughly under running water for 60 seconds.
  3. Then submerge the filter in a bowl of water for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Afterward, let the filter drip dry briefly.
  5. Place the new filter back into the bottle's straw.

Yes! Once your order has been dispatched, you will automatically receive an email with a track & trace code to follow your package.

What are the shipping costs?

For orders within the Netherlands, we charge a flat shipping rate of €5.95.
Do you order for €50 or more? Then shipping is free.

What is the delivery time of my order?


Orders within the Netherlands are usually delivered within 2–3 business days. If you place your order today, it will be shipped the next business day.

What should I do if there is a problem with my order?

Returns

What is the return period?

You have 14 days after receiving your order to request a return.

How do I start a return?

You can request a return by contacting us at info@druppelfilters.com. Upon approval, you will receive a return label and instructions.

How do I know if my return has been received?

Once we have received and processed your return, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail from us.

How does exchanging a water bottle or filter work?

Do you want a different product? Return your current item and place a new order once your return has been approved.

Can I return water filters?

Water filters (cartridges) can only be returned if they are unused and the seal is unbroken. Used or opened filters cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.

Return costs

The costs for returning orders are at your own expense.

When will I receive my refund?

After we have received and checked your return, we will let you know whether it has been approved. If approved, the amount will be refunded within 10 working days via the original payment method.

Payment options

Which payment methods can I use in the webshop?

You can pay with iDEAL, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, and AMEX), Bancontact, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna (pay later), PayPal, and bank transfer. You will always see the available options during checkout.

Can I pay safely online with you?

Yes, all payments are processed via a secure SSL connection and recognized payment providers. Your data is processed securely and is not stored by us.

Which payment method is processed the fastest?

Payments via iDEAL, credit card, and PayPal are processed immediately. Your order will then be processed right away.

Can I pay later?

Yes, pay later is possible via Klarna. You will automatically see this option during checkout if it is available for your order.

Are there extra costs associated with certain payment methods?

No, we do not charge any extra fees for using our payment methods.
